Welcome to the last weekend of Daylight Savings Time, which comes chock full of events so you can savor the extra hour of sleep on Sunday morning (at least, for those of you without kids….)

There are too many costume contests to count — although we’ve included quite a few — with Halloween and Dia de los Muertos events happening all weekend.

There’s also a relatively huge football game being played between Georgia and Florida, right here in Atlanta for the first time in history.

And hopefully the Atlanta Dream can stave off elimination today in Game 6 and win a huge Game 7 so this city can enjoy a victory parade.

Ok, here’s this week’s Anthem 👇

The Anthem is made possible in part by El Tesoro, a neighborhood treasure serving good quality food at reasonable prices.

🌮 We typically stick to the east side, but El Tesoro West End has a free Monster Mash Dance Party tonight from 7-8:30pm, with a Halloween dance class for all ages and a costume competition. Back in Edgewood, they’re showing Coco on the big screen out back at 2pm on 11/1.

🌭 Tony’s is slinging Chicago beef and dogs at Sceptre Brewing again this weekend. Check the menu here.

🇲🇽 Head over to El Ponce on Sunday for a Dia de Muertos Mariachi Dinner for live music and a three-course prix fixe with optional beverage pairings.

🦩 Wyld Bird is now open on Tuesdays from 5-10pm, with happy hour from 5-6 and again from 9-10.

🍂 Yes, that’s a marshmallow floating in your drink. Argosy’s Hot Spiced Punkin Cider mixes spiced rum, Georgia cider, pumpkin, and marshmallow cordial with nutmeg and cinnamon. Get it while it’s fall.

🥪 If you’re looking to feel Southern and Sassy, the Bless Your Heart sandwich at Red’s is for you.

🍗 Mushi Ni rolled out the BFC, a big fried chicken sandwich with slaw on a brioche bun. It’s lunch only.

🥖 Bona Fide Deluxe’s Herald is a weekly special with house-smoked top round, melted Gruyère and mozzarella, cognac caramelized onions, and Dijon chervil cream on a toasted Alon’s Tuscan hoagie. It comes with beef consommé for dipping, and it’s only around through Sunday.

Introducing… Goose

Neighborhood: East Lake

About: One day Goose emerged from the woods of Franklin, Tennessee, where he was rescued and subsequently adopted by us from a shelter. When people try to guess what breed he is, he says he is one of a kind. He is approximately 4 years old and loves living in Atlanta. He especially enjoys long walks to get coffee before the sun rises, socializing at the dog park, and snuggling on the couch.

Fun Fact: Goose has a lovely singing voice. He is a true alto, and is quick to join a howling session with another dog, human, or fire truck.

Thank you to Annie for sharing Goose with us.

If you want your pet featured in the Park Pet Supply Pet of the Week section of the Anthem, fill out this form!
