Happy Thursday, East Atlanta!
This is a big week for us. We updated our Sports Bar Guide, our Farmers Market Guide, and added a Trivia Nights database. We did our best, but please send in your feedback so we can make them even better.
But enough about us… it’s also a huge month for Atlanta. June is Pride Month, and there are lots of events in East Atlanta and across the state. The World Cup also kicks off next week. Atlanta is hosting eight games between June 15 - July 15, and there are lots of watch parties and events planned. We’ll have those ready next week.
For now, let’s get into the Anthem 👇

The Anthem is made possible in part by El Tesoro, a neighborhood treasure serving good quality food at reasonable prices. See The Menu.
🌯 El Tesoro’s hosting a community market this Saturday. Margs and Markets just go together when you think about it…
🔥 Beksa Lala is taking over Breaker Breaker every Monday in June for The Cookout, a backyard grill pop-up serving homestyle Polish plates: whole trout, kielbasa, and cold borscht.
🦁 Ruby Chow's GM & Beverage director Brian took The Mighty Lion to the Procera Gin Cocktail Competition, finished 4th out of 24, and now you can order it off their cocktail list. Ingredients: Procera Gin, clarified strawberry + lime cordial, espresso bean, sansho pepper.
🍵 Buji Matcha is popping up at Cam Kirk Studios on Krog St this Sunday with exclusive collab merch and your fav Buji bevs, 12-4pm.

🥪 Sugar Loaf's new lunch special is the PLT — crispy beef pastrami from The Spotted Trotter, romaine, fresh sliced seasoned tomatoes, Duke's mayo, on a fluffy milk bread from TGM Bread.
🍕 Not to be confused with the PLT, Lloyd's June pie of the month is the BLT — bechamel base, heirloom tomato, arugula, bacon, and ranch drizz.
🥪 Mikkelson’s Market opened Mikkelson’s Kitchen today. Looks like a mix between breakfast & non-breakfast sammies.

🍸 Gene’s rolled out a new cocktail perfect for the warmer weather: Watermelon Crawl - tequila, cantaloupe, watermelon, lime, and salt.

Introducing… Sadie
Neighborhood: Grant Park
About: Sadie is a rescue from the backwoods of Statesboro, Georgia (and a big Georgia Southern Eagles fan!). An 11ish year old lab who loves to swim, fetch, and nap! Her favorite walking route around town is definitely the Beltline and enjoys a patio hang at any patio in town (Patria Cocina and Breaker Breaker are her favs!)
Fun fact: She’s a cheese connoisseur.
Special talent: She can turn into a personal vacuum, especially during dinner time!
Thank you to Rainey & Justin for sharing Sadie with us.

This week’s updates are presented by LIV Fitness. LIV is located just behind the Lidl on Memorial, and might be the only gym where cancelling is easier than joining. LIV is open 5am-11pm every day for members and offers a full cardio line, several squat racks, free weights, tactical conditioning equipment, and more. Learn more here.
⚽ This week, 92.9 The Game launched a nightly show, Atlanta Soccer Tonight: Stoppage Time. It’s a World Cup show hosted by Jason Longshore running through July 19. You can tune in live on the radio, stream on Audacy, or watch the full show on their YouTube channel.
📗 Check out some new vending machines in the Krog District — one disperses books, another sells surprise art prints.
🚽 The Throne Bathroom Network (what a name!) officially launched on the Beltline this week, with 10 locations around the city. Every bathroom has flushable toilets and working sinks, baby changing stations, free menstrual products, and are ADA compliant. PS: On the Westside Beltline, they’ve got autonomous busses.
🚂 MARTA was planning to debut new train cars today, but safety issues have caused a delay. It’s unclear when the new cars will be operational.
⛽ You may have noticed gas prices shot up yesterday. That’s because Georgia’s gas tax suspension ended, and there’s no indication it’s coming back to spare us.
Thanks so much for reading the Anthem! If you enjoyed it, tell a friend! If you didn’t, reply with feedback. We read every email!
