šŸ…°ļø Dog-Friendly Market, July Menus, & More

Plus Beyonce, Ben Shelton, & Books.

Happy Thursday, and welcome to the first edition of the East Atlanta Anthem.

EAA is a passion project of two friends who live in East Atlanta and love to explore new things. There are some great newsletters serving metro Atlanta, but we often find the news and events to be somewhat out of reach.

There’s so much happening in East Atlanta that we decided to create a newsletter that was easy to read and accessible to all of our subscribers. Most of what you’ll see here are things we’re genuinely interested in — but if you have suggestions or recommendations, please send them our way.

Without further ado, this week we’re covering the basics you can always expect here at the Anthem: Eats, Events, & Updates for anyone with NE or SE at the end of their Atlanta street address.

Thank you so much for reading. If you have any questions comments or concerns, just reply to this email!

-Connor & James

Eats

One of our favorite things about welcoming in a new month is that so many of our restaurants here in East Atlanta introduce new monthly menus.

What we’re excited to try this July:

šŸ• The Lloyd’s Pizza of The Month is… The Anthony Chopkins. This pie features chopped pepperoni, salami, onion, and banana peppers.

šŸ© Revolution Donuts July menu is here and we’re definitely eyeing summer flavors like Campfire S’mores, Blueberry Basil, and Raspberry Sprinkle.

šŸ¹ Poor Hendrix added a delicious new cocktail to their summer menu, appropriately called the Summer Spritz.

Openings:

🐈 Jolene, Jolene: Atlanta’s first women’s sports bar officially opened on July 4th in Pullman Yards! They’re open Wed-Sun and will be showing women’s sports primarily. This weekend’s TV Schedule features WNBA, Wimbledon, Euros, and more.

šŸØ Van Leeuwen Ice Cream: Originally from NYC, Van Leeuwen is opening their first Atlanta scoop shop in Ponce City Market on Friday, July 11th. They’ll be serving up a limited-time sundae in collaboration with East Atlanta’s own, Bomb Biscuit!
