Eats

đŸ„“ There’s a new breakfast spot coming to East Lake! Hudson Rouse - a prolific East Atlanta restaurateur with Whoopsies (Reynoldstown), Pure Quill Superette (Edgewood), and Rising Son (Avondale Estates) - will open Babygirl in April 2026. “Babygirl is more cafe or bistro-inspired, kind of a modern diner and snack-oriented with small, concise plates,” Rouse told Rough Draft.

James has been dying for a new breakfast spot in East Lake and is PUMPED about this news!

🍔 Monday Bunday anyone? This is your friendly reminder that on Mondays, Argosy has a pretty amazing burger deal: A Plancha Burger, house cut frites, and a Creature Comforts Classic City Lager Tallboy
all for $13. According to Argosy co-owner Armando Celentano, “We make nothing on it, but I like seeing y’all’s faces.”

đŸ„€ Littles Food Store rolled out a new drink menu featuring everything from Arnold Palmers to Lattes, to Ice Cream Floats.

đŸ¶ Family Dog will now be open at 8:30AM for brunch on the weekends with six new menu items you can read all about right here on their Instagram.

☕ Park Grounds in Reynoldstown just came out with not one, but TWO Cherry Coke beveraginos for the summer
A Cherry Coke Slushy that “can be served with a shot of whisky upon sweet request” and a Cherry Coke Americano.

🍳 A classic Atlanta breakfast spot - Homegrown - is expanding operations. Faced with a rent-hike, they managed to flip the script and buy their building, adding security to a business that started in 2010 and has endured several challenges. “This part of Memorial Drive has completely changed, but we want Home grown to be here forever,” Clark said. Hear hear!

Updates

🔌 You’ve probably noticed your power bill going up, and apparently it takes several paragraphs to explain why. The good news seems to be that Georgia Power won’t be able to hike rates again until 2028, so maybe we’ll get a break... because let’s face it, summers aren’t getting much cooler any time soon.

🚗 You’ve almost certainly seen a Waymo car driving around Atlanta recently. So far, they haven’t been involved in many accidents, and apparently none of the accidents they’ve been in have been their fault. That’s the good news. The bad news is that they’ve shown off some very strange driving choices (either that or they’re picking up too many habits from Atlanta drivers). Here’s the scoop from the AJC via Detroit News.

đŸ“» WABE’s City Lights Collective highlighted two of our favorite East Atlanta venues in Monday’s episode. Read up & Listen In for segments on the latest programming at Dad’s Garage and ABV Gallery.

Forward this email to someone who is too scared to ride in a Waymo.
