đ„ Thereâs a new breakfast spot coming to East Lake! Hudson Rouse - a prolific East Atlanta restaurateur with Whoopsies (Reynoldstown), Pure Quill Superette (Edgewood), and Rising Son (Avondale Estates) - will open Babygirl in April 2026. âBabygirl is more cafe or bistro-inspired, kind of a modern diner and snack-oriented with small, concise plates,â Rouse told Rough Draft.

đł A classic Atlanta breakfast spot - Homegrown - is expanding operations. Faced with a rent-hike, they managed to flip the script and buy their building, adding security to a business that started in 2010 and has endured several challenges. âThis part of Memorial Drive has completely changed, but we want Home grown to be here forever,â Clark said. Hear hear!

đ Youâve probably noticed your power bill going up, and apparently it takes several paragraphs to explain why. The good news seems to be that Georgia Power wonât be able to hike rates again until 2028, so maybe weâll get a break... because letâs face it, summers arenât getting much cooler any time soon.
đ Youâve almost certainly seen a Waymo car driving around Atlanta recently. So far, they havenât been involved in many accidents, and apparently none of the accidents theyâve been in have been their fault. Thatâs the good news. The bad news is that theyâve shown off some very strange driving choices (either that or theyâre picking up too many habits from Atlanta drivers). Hereâs the scoop from the AJC via Detroit News.
đ» WABEâs City Lights Collective highlighted two of our favorite East Atlanta venues in Mondayâs episode. Read up & Listen In for segments on the latest programming at Dadâs Garage and ABV Gallery.
Forward this email to someone who is too scared to ride in a Waymo.
