šŸ…°ļø Back to School Special

Plus a New Big Softie Location & 2 Beltline Kevin Profiles

Happy Thursday everyone. We hope you’re staying healthy and cool. Seems like there’s something going around and whatever it is, I caught it last weekend and it knocked me out for a few days.

For those of you feeling better than me, there’s lots going on in East Atlanta this weekend (as usual). Check out some classic cocktails, a taco popup, and a pair of school fundraisers giving you an excuse to eat ice cream.

There are also a couple of profiles of some famous Atlantans - Beltline Kev and Tom Cousins. Plus, a major music festival just announced their lineup.

Check out the all the latest in East Atlanta below and have a great weekend!

Best,
Connor

Be sure to follow their Instagram page to stay in the loop - they’ve been posting the new menu on Sunday or Monday.

šŸ¦ Big Softie announced they will be opening a third location in an Instagram post on Wednesday. The beloved soft serve shop’s address puts it right across the Beltline from New Realm. The opening date will be announced in the next couple of weeks .

Updates

šŸ›¼ We really enjoyed reading this profile on ā€œBeltline Kevinā€, everyone’s favorite rollerblader/singer. Laura Nwogu from The Atlanta Voice does a great job shedding light on Kevin's childhood, his career in the Navy and as an educator, and what inspires him. If you’re a fan of Kevin, you’re in luck. CNN published another profile on the skating sensation on Wednesday.

šŸ“– Getting ready for school? While some schools are already back in session, most begin on Monday. If you’re in need to school supplies, here’s a round-up of giveaways happening across the metro Atlanta.

šŸŽ™ļø ONE Musicfest announced a massive lineup for their festival on October 24-25 at Piedmont Park. Acts include Future, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Kehlani, Clipse, and many more. Tickets are now on sale.

šŸ™ļø Atlanta Real Estate visionary Tom Cousins has passed away. Cousins’ list of achievements is long and impressive. He’s responsible for bringing the Hawks to Atlanta from St. Louis in 1968 and developing the instantly recognizable Bank Of America Plaza building. Hitting extra close to home for our audience, Cousins is credited with massively transforming East Lake.
