Good morning East Atlanta! In the last week, the Anthem crossed 4,000 subscribers.

Pretty wild… Thanks to all of you who read weekly, share with friends, and send us recommendations. It feels really good to know that people like what we’re doing and are finding out about small businesses in the area to support every week.

While Grant Park turns 143 this weekend, we have a birthday of our own coming up… The Anthem will be 1 this summer. Stay tuned for more info on that 👀.

🍹 Gene's just dropped a new drink: the Navy Grog, made with Hamilton Navy Grog Rum, Kronan Swedish Punsch, grapefruit, lime, and cinnamon. This classic cocktail is inspired by the British Royal Navy and not its color (it’s actually bright orange).

💥 Beksa Lala & Chef Lino from Minhwa Spirits are joining forces for the first-ever Chaos Cooking Club at Breaker Breaker on Monday, 5/18. We love alliteration here at the Anthem, so count us in.

🤳 Here’s a friendly reminder to check IG for daily specials from places like Manuel’s Tavern and Flatiron. They’re always posting the good stuff, but since things change daily, they’re hard to include in the Anthem.

Neighborhood: East Lake

About: We rescued Mollie from Lifeline with a grapefruit-sized cyst on her belly. Luckily, it was benign and it was removed. She’s been leading the pack ever since (and that of course means us).

Special Talent: She won’t tell you, and we didn’t find out for a few months, but our girl loves to play fetch and retrieve.
