Good morning to all 3,300 of you! 📈📈📈
With spring officially here, the Anthem has now been around for all four seasons!
Before I (James) lived in Atlanta (previously: New York, Connecticut, England, Australia), summer was by far my favorite season, but a few years ago my wife went on a rant about how Atlanta summers are actually the worst season.
“Blasphemy,” I thought. But over time, I came to realize she was correct.
In order, my favorite seasons in Atlanta are Fall, Spring, Winter, Summer. I’m curious to know what your favorite season is. Hit the poll below and let me know if you’re with me or if I’m insane.
Before we go, important birthday shout-out to Anthem co-founder Connor Nolte! With the Final Four this weekend and the Master’s next weekend, Connor is in birthday heaven.
Anyway, let’s get into this week’s edition of the Anthem 👇

The Anthem is made possible in part by El Tesoro, a neighborhood treasure serving good quality food at reasonable prices. See The Menu.
🌯 Today is National Burrito Day! You already know El Tesoro has you covered. Head over to their Edgewood location for burro specials and delicious drinks.
🍝 Victory Sandwich Bar just added the Spaghetti Western to their lineup of tiny sandos, and it's exactly what it sounds like: spaghetti, mozzarella, tomato, and garlic ciabatta in sandwich form.
🍕 Lloyd's April pie is the Margherita Hayworth, a classic margherita with exxxtra red sauce, fresh mozzarella, their signature crust dust, and basil.
🍋 Ollie's is now serving Frozen Lemonade Slushies in classic, strawberry, blue raspberry, and lavender. Basically summer in a cup.
🍺 Three Taverns is opening their new Ponce Brew Terminal this Saturday (4/4) at 680 North Ave, right on the Beltline. The space features beer, cocktails, and BBQ from Das BBQ.
🍷 Babs Midtown is bringing back their First Monday Supper Club on April 6th with a $28 prix fixe featuring travel-inspired dishes like Sicilian salmon, coconut curry chickpeas, and za'atar chicken. Plus $14 wine bottles and chef-crafted desserts.
🍩 The Edgewood Garden needs spring cleaning, and you’ll be rewarded with free coffee and donuts if you head over to help on Saturday morning.
🥧 The good folks at Heaps Pies have a limited time Steak and Stilton pie that is absolutely calling James’ name!
🍪 Kirkwood's Baftooh Bakery is teaming up with Soberish for a spring pop-up on Sunday 4/5 from 11a-2p.
🎾 Perc just dropped a tennis-themed merch collection featuring their octopus mascot serving serious court energy. Totes, shirts, hats, mugs, and more.
🍷 Ladies, if you need plans tonight, VinoTeca has you covered. 5 women of VinoTeca have selected their favorite “girl dinner” plates and paired them with one of their favorite wines.
🍸 Last week I (James) put the wrong link for Banshee’s Careless Whisper cocktail - again, great graphic, great looking drink.
🍺 New Realm Brewing is having an Easter Party on Sunday with craft cocktails and an Easter egg hunt. It starts at 2 but apparently they’re serving brunch (too late to be called brunch IJO).
🥟 The Beksa pop up tour continues - this weekend they’re celebrating Easter at Sceptre Brewing. Their Polish Easter menu looks 🔥 🔥 🔥
🍔 Red's Beer Garden is doing Cheeseburger Day TODAY! Beef or Beyond burgers with American cheese, pickles, red onion, lettuce, and mayo on a salt & pepper bun - available from 4pm until they're gone.
Anthem Introductions are brought to you by Accomplished. Steph Hanson and her team of trusted home managers are helping busy Atlantans take back their lives by handling home organization, meal prep, laundry, and other time-consuming tasks. Learn more.
Speaking of good neighbors, it’s time to meet Jason Varley.
💵 Best purchase you’ve made under $20 in the area?
Probably a record at Wax 'N' Facts in L5P. That place is the real deal and legendary.
👍 What does this side of town get right that other parts of Atlanta don't?
Atlanta has changed a lot in the past 30 years. The East Side, with its great neighborhoods, has retained a lot of its "old Atlanta" vibe even as things change.

This week’s updates are presented by Loop. Send Loop a picture of the stuff you find during spring cleaning, and they’ll send you a cash offer in 8 seconds. If you accept, they’ll come over and pick it up off your porch. So instead of wasting time on a marketplace deal this weekend, you can go do the fun stuff below.
🪴 Janna Rhoden, the Gardens Manager at Oakland Cemetery, shared her plant expertise in a New York Times Wirecutter feature on how to not kill your houseplants. She cares for Oakland's sprawling grounds plus her own collection of 100+ houseplants, so yeah, she's qualified.
🎼 I’m not exactly sure why this tickled my imagination so much but here’s a story about two Decatur residents who keep rare accordions alive and playing. What a unique business!
📚 Bookish had to close after a pipe issue flooded parts of the store, including their kids section and community pantry. With repairs delayed and income stopped, they're sharing ways to help while they work to reopen.
🏢 The Lodge is finally happening. After years of delays, the development at Moreland and Glenwood is on track to open this summer with Victory Brands (the folks behind Victory, Lloyd's, and Stereo) running a coffee bar, bar, and event space in the restored Masonic Lodge.
