Happy Thursday everybody! Today's an exciting day… we're launching the Anthem Gift Shop.
For decades, publications like Sports Illustrated and The New Yorker have thanked their paid subscribers with windbreakers and tote bags. The East Atlanta Anthem is free, and it's staying that way. But we've heard from many of you wanting to support what we're doing here.
So we made some merch. Not generic Anthem-branded stuff, but pieces that celebrate the (17+) neighborhoods we cover every week... East Atlanta, Grant Park, Kirkwood, etc.
We've got hats, sweatshirts, garden flags, and more with designs inspired by what we wore growing up as well as some originals.
As a thank you, here's a code for $5 off your first order: TAKE5
Okay, let’s get into this week’s edition of the Anthem 👇

The Anthem is made possible in part by El Tesoro. See The Menu.
🌮 Did you know: El Tesoro offers Taco Parties for takeout. All the fixins, deconstructed to build 6 (party of 2) or 12 tacos (party of 4).
🍽️ Babs is hosting their First Monday Supper Club on 2/2 with a $25 prix fixe menu from 5-8:30pm. Reservations suggested.
🍺 Home Grown & Round Trip Brewing have joined forces to concoct a new beer called “Cold Ipa”. The can looks beautiful.
🥪 The Mile High Club is back at Victory. The fan favorite made its triumphant return to menus today.
🍔 Smiley’s Burger Club’s collab with Beksa is coming to an end. The burger consists of a classic Smiley’s smashed beef patty topped with a fried Beksa pieróg, Polish style pickle, sour cream + hot honey sauce, griddled onions, & good cheddar. Grab one before 2/1.
🥇 Communidad is now pouring $8 Skinny Margs. Act accordingly.
🥪 Bona Fide Deluxe just dropped their weekly special: The Jerk. Jerk marinated smoked pork shoulder, grilled pineapple, and coconut-lime + habanero coleslaw served on a toasted Tuscan hoagie from Alon’s Bakery.
❤️🩹 Calling all Healthcare Workers and First Responders. First, thank you. Second, Truth and Lending and Taproom Coffee are partnering to offer you a free drink, now through 2/12 as a way to show their appreciation for you and to honor Alex Pretti’s memory.
🪤 Mozzarella sticks are back at Red’s. Available during happy hour only.
🥠 Doc Chey’s is counting down to the Lunar New Year with fortune cookie prizes and giving back. From 2/3-2/5 they’re giving away over 1,000 prizes via fortune cookies. Every cookie wins. Additionally, from 2/3-2/17, they’re donating $5 to Giving Kitchen for every Lucky Sampler ordered.
🦞 Has anyone tried the new lobster roll joint (appropriately named ATL Lobster Roll Co) on Moreland? The IG comments are effusive, James is dying to go check it out.
🐔 Big fan of wings? Axios is hosting a “wing bracket” which has Manuels, The Local, Taco Mac, and JR Crickets in the final four. Vote here!
🥶 The weather this past weekend impacted your favorite local restaurants. Give them a visit this weekend. Maybe even buy a gift card to use at a later date. Trust us, they’ll appreciate it.
Park Pet Supply has been serving the East Atlanta area with affordable prices and unparalleled customer service since 1999. Now through 1/31: 20% Off all coats, sweaters, and pajamas.
