Good morning to all 3,400 of you! 📈📈📈
Ok everybody. Connor here, and I have a public service announcement. Two of them actually. Both parking related.
If you’re picking up takeout from Bao Go Go on Memorial, don’t even think about leaving your car in the Homegrown parking lot for 5 minutes while you run inside. I promise you it doesn’t matter if it is a Monday night and Homegrown/Wyld Bird is closed. There’s a guy who emerges from the shadows and boots your car. $75 to get it off.
The big lot in Summerhill that was always free is now a paid lot. There is apparently miniscule print on the sign when you enter. They’ll send you a $99 ticket in the mail if you park and don’t pay.
If we start asking for donations, now you know why.
Hey - this is James. Just here to say I finished third in Midway Pub’s Bracket Challenge 💪 🏀 🍺
Alrighty… let’s get into this week’s edition of the Anthem 👇

The Anthem is made possible in part by El Tesoro, a neighborhood treasure serving good quality food at reasonable prices. See The Menu.
🌯 El Tesoro is hosting a community market at their Edgewood location this Saturday (4/11) from 12-5pm. Pro tip: head straight to the bar in the back when you arrive, grab a cold drink, and browse the market.
🍺 Poor Hendrix has a reason to actually look forward to Mondays: their Wing & Beer Special runs every week with chicken wings + a 16oz High Life or Miller Lite for $15 (or upgrade to the beer of your choice for $16).
🍧 Uncle Phills added traditional Philly Water Ice back to their menu and it looks perfect for hot summer days.
🍳 Babygirl, the new breakfast spot from chef Hudson Rouse, is opening April 11th on the corner of Second and Hosea L. Williams in East Lake. Good food. Real vibes.
🥪 Tony’s Chicago Beef is the pop-up of the week at Sceptre Brewing. Phenomenal Italian beef sandwiches.
🍕 Urban Pie was on Bar Rescue last week (S10 E8). To celebrate they’re showing the episode for the next several nights at 8pm in the restaurant.
🌯 A better start to your week: Comunidad is now open on Mondays.
☕ Waxwing Coffee will be one of several local vendors including drinks, pastries, art and more at Beech Hollow Farm’s Spring Fling.
🚨 One of a kind collab happening between Gigi’s Italian and So So Fed’s Laotian food on April 15. It’s first some-first served so get there early.
🏈 Pour one out for Big Game Sports Bar. News broke last night that after 6 years, the doors are officially closed. Feels very abrupt and just not right that it lands on Masters Thursday.
Speaking of the Masters, plenty of spots around town are celebrating. You don’t need to like golf to like these deals ⛳️
⛳ Smiley's Burger Club has a putting green set up inside all weekend, and it comes with stakes: sink your putt and get 50% off your beer. Miss and you still get a great beer, so honestly it's a win either way. Come for the new Fox Bros BBQ collab burger, stay for the $3 pimento cheese sandwiches.
⛳️ Moe's and Joe's is dropping limited edition Masters weekend merch this week. Comment "GREEN" on their IG post for a sneak peek.
🧢 Halfway Crooks dropped a Masters-themed dad hat.
🏌️ Ladybird is hosting a Tee Off Tournament this Thursday (4/9) from 3-7PM in partnership with Creature Comforts and Dryve Box.
🐶 The Family Dog is bringing back their Masters menu with all the classics: pimento cheese and egg salad sandwiches for $5, transfusions and Arnold Palmers for $9. Suddenly everyone's a golf fan.
Anthem Introductions are brought to you by Accomplished. Steph Hanson and her team of trusted home managers are helping busy Atlantans take back their lives by handling home organization, meal prep, laundry, and other time-consuming tasks. Learn more.

Introducing… Franklin Saint
Neighborhood: Grant Park / Glenwood Ave SE
About: Franklin Saint was found abandoned and malnourished on the streets while my husband, Damani, was delivering mail. Damani found him and kept him in his mail truck all day and brought him home. We cleaned him up, fed him, and only planned on fostering when we fell in love with him! He’s now our first cat we’ve ever had and he makes our house a home. We are currently training him to walk outside so he can come with us on the beltline or to the park.
Fun Fact/Special Talent: Franklin Saint is less than a year old. He loves to play fetch. & he also knows how to “sit” on command.
Thank you to Angel and Damani for sharing Franklin Saint with us.
