Good morning East Atlanta!

Hope you’re having a good week! I realized the other day that I never told you all about an exciting update for the Anthem. We sent out 7,500 issues of what we’re calling the Anthem Almanac. It’s a free publication we’re sending out every other month.

The first one featured a letter from your editors, and some awesome offers from the sponsors you’ve been seeing in the Anthem lately:

  • A coupon for Free Chips and Salsa at El Tesoro

  • $10 off a Massage at Utopia

  • $5 off $25 at Park Pet Supply

  • 10% off at Soberish

  • And more…

Here’s the deal… we sent out 7,500 in the mail. We ordered 8,000 from the printer. If you want one of the extras… submit your address here.

Also, we’re finalizing spots for the May edition. If you want an ad for your business in there… click here.

Alrighty… let’s get into this week’s edition of the Anthem 👇

The Anthem is made possible in part by El Tesoro, a neighborhood treasure serving good quality food at reasonable prices. See The Menu.

🌯 It’s officially patio season at El Tesoro. I’ve said it once but I’ll say it again, if you don’t want to stand in line but want a cold drink and chips, salsa, guac, queso… just head straight to the back bar when you arrive. -Connor

🌸 Park Grounds just dropped their spring specials and the Blueberry Matcha alone is enough reason to make the trip.

🥖 Victory is bringing back the Han Cholo, a pork chorizo sandwich loaded with feta, pickled red onion, and tomatillo salsa. Vegan option available too.

🍩 Better late than never. We’re finally getting around to sharing Revolution’s April menu.

🍺 Earn your beer this weekend at Halfway Crooks Kolsh Fest. Get 20cl of beer for every 1k you run!

🥇 Huuuuuuuge congrats to Jolene Jolene for hitting their crowdfunding goal to secure a location for Atlanta’s first women’s sports bar!

🥪 Having lived on North Highland in Morningside, I (James) developed a deep appreciation for Alon’s Bakery. I still pop in whenever I’m in the area. If you fee lthe same way I do, you’ll enjoy this ode to Alon’s by Eater Atlanta.

🍄 The Deer and The Dove is hosting the next edition of their Farmer Dinner Series on Wednesday, April 22 featuring Howard Berk of Ellijay Farms. Chef Terry and Howard are two of my favorite people in Atlanta — this is going to be awesome.

🏖 The Tiki Bar at Midway Pub officially opens for the season on Friday. Check out the menu of beachy cocktails here.

💁 Friendly reminder to tip your bartenders and servers… apparently, Georgia ranks 36th in the country for tip percentage!

📢 Ever feel like it’s way too loud at a restaurant? You’re not alone! Rough Draft Atlanta analyzed noise at a bunch of Atlanta area restaurants — interesting read.
